Malta Spiritual Small Group Guided Tour Announced
Malta is a travel destination that is rich with myths and legends. You have probably watched the 1941 Humphry Bogart movie, “The Maltese Falcon,” about the precious black bird, encrusted from beak to claw with the rarest jewels, that was created in 1539 as a tribute paid to King Charles V of Spain by the Knights Templar of Malta. The falcon story may be a Hollywood fantasy, but the Maltese Knights Templar were real. In the early 1300s, the King of Sicily gifted the island to the Christian military organization as a reward for their services during the Crusades. The Templars built fortifications and built a new city. Valletta is the smallest capital city in Europe in size, but it’s jam-packed with history. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980, and in 2024 Travel & Leisure magazine honored it as one of the Best Places in the World to Visit.
